PM Modi Announces Relief for Kuwait Fire Victims

New Delhi: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi chaired a high-level review meeting at his residence in 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi, to address the tragic fire incident in Kuwait that claimed the lives of several Indian nationals and left many injured.

Expressing profound sorrow over the incident, Prime Minister Modi extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. He directed the Government of India to provide all necessary assistance to those affected.

In a significant move, the Prime Minister instructed Minister of State for External Affairs, Shri Kirtivardhan Singh, to travel immediately to Kuwait. His mission includes overseeing relief operations and facilitating the swift repatriation of mortal remains to India.

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi announced an ex-gratia relief of Rs 2 lakh to the families of each deceased Indian national from the Prime Minister Relief Fund, underscoring the government’s commitment to supporting the affected families during this challenging time.

The meeting was attended by key officials including Minister of External Affairs Dr. S Jaishankar, Principal Secretary to the PM Shri Pramod Kumar Mishra, National Security Advisor Shri Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Shri Vinay Kwatra, and other senior dignitaries.

The government’s swift response aims to provide immediate relief and support to the victims and their families, ensuring that necessary assistance reaches those in need without delay.
