PM Highlights Tech Boost in Welfare Delivery

PM Modi Highlights Tech-Driven Transformation in Women and Child Welfare

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday shared an article detailing how the Government of India is leveraging technology to revolutionize women and child welfare schemes, emphasizing the power of digital tools in delivering efficient, transparent, and real-time services.

The article, originally shared by Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smt. Annapurna Devi, highlights key initiatives such as the Poshan Tracker, a dedicated grievance redressal module, and Direct Benefit Transfers (DBTs) as game-changers in improving service delivery across the country.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister’s Office (@PMOIndia) responded to the Minister’s article, stating:

“Union Minister @Annapurna4BJP Ji writes about how the Government has leveraged technology to transform women and child welfare. Initiatives like Poshan Tracker, a dedicated grievance redressal module and direct benefit transfers are driving real-time, impactful change across the country.”

The Poshan Tracker, a digital platform under the government’s flagship POSHAN Abhiyaan, enables real-time monitoring of nutritional services delivered through Anganwadi centres, improving transparency and accountability in child and maternal nutrition programs.

The grievance redressal module empowers citizens, especially women beneficiaries, to report issues and receive timely resolutions, strengthening trust in public welfare systems. Meanwhile, Direct Benefit Transfers (DBTs) have ensured that financial aid reaches beneficiaries directly in their bank accounts, reducing delays and eliminating leakages.

The shared article reflects the government’s broader commitment to harnessing Digital India tools to enhance the reach and effectiveness of welfare schemes, particularly for marginalized women and children.

Officials noted that such tech-driven interventions are not only increasing operational efficiency but also enabling more data-driven decision-making at the grassroots level.

The PM’s endorsement of the article further amplifies the importance of integrating innovation into governance to create inclusive and citizen-centric welfare systems.
