PM Modi Meets Indian Blind Women’s T20 World Cup Champions, Praises Their Courage and Determination

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday met the Indian Blind Women’s T20 World Cup Champions at his residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, and lauded the team for their inspiring journey marked by resilience, hard work and exceptional talent.

Engaging warmly with the players, the Prime Minister commended them for overcoming challenges and building confidence despite societal and personal hardships. He said that those who progress with dedication “never fail, not only on the sports field but also in life,” and praised the champions for forging their own identity.

Highlighting the 150-year legacy of Vande Mataram, the Prime Minister said the team’s spirit exemplifies national pride and unity. He also appreciated the musical talent of a player who sang devotional verses, connecting it to his bond with Kashi. In a lighter moment, he compared the team’s all-round abilities to the varied roles in politics.

The players shared emotional accounts of their struggles, including family difficulties and societal prejudices. One member recalled fulfilling her late father’s dream by meeting the Prime Minister.

Shri Modi told the players that their achievements inspire not just the differently-abled community but the entire nation, reflecting the strength and resilience of India’s youth.
