Over 5,000 Participate in Soldierathon to Honor Brave Soldiers
Over 5,000 runners gathered at Army Hospital (R&R), New Delhi on April 20, 2025, for the first-ever Soldierathon, “Run for Soldiers and Run with Soldiers,” a tribute to the brave heroes of India’s Armed Forces. The event, co-organized by Army Hospital (R&R) and Fitistan – Ek Fit Bharat, included veterans, soldiers, civilians, students, and fitness enthusiasts, celebrating unity and national pride.
The Soldierathon featured three race categories: a 10 km timed run, a 5 km fun run, and a 3 km walk, aimed at promoting inclusivity and encouraging mass participation. Runners shared the track with Indian soldiers, drawing inspiration from their unwavering discipline, determination, and service.
The event was flagged off by General (Dr) VK Singh (Retd), Governor of Mizoram, along with other military dignitaries. The event not only honored the armed forces but also aimed to raise funds for the Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre in Kirkee, Pune, which provides specialized care to soldiers injured in the line of duty.
The event garnered an overwhelming response, demonstrating the nation’s collective commitment to supporting its military personnel.
