Over 1 Lakh Women Yet to Receive 2nd Instalment of ‘Subhadra Yojana’: Odisha Dy CM

More than one lakh women in Odisha have not received the second instalment of financial assistance under the state government’s ‘Subhadra Yojana’ due to issues like the surrender of their ration cards and other reasons, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida revealed on Wednesday.
The Odisha government has enrolled over one crore women beneficiaries under this women-centric scheme, which aims to provide financial support. The first instalment of ₹5,000 was distributed in five phases, benefiting a large number of women across the state.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi had officially released the second instalment on March 8, coinciding with International Women’s Day. However, a significant number of eligible beneficiaries are yet to receive the amount.
Authorities are now reviewing the reasons behind the delays and exploring solutions to ensure that the pending funds reach the intended recipients. The government is expected to take corrective measures to streamline the distribution process in the coming weeks.
