Odisha Reconstitutes Task Force for NEP-2020 Implementation
The Odisha government has restructured its task force to effectively implement the National Education Policy (NEP-2020). A notification issued by the School and Mass Education Department on Thursday confirmed the reconstitution, emphasizing the state’s commitment to advancing educational reforms.
The task force, chaired by the Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary (DC-cum-ACS), will be responsible for recommending actionable measures for NEP-2020 execution in Odisha. It includes 13 ex-officio members and will receive guidance from expert members, who will participate as special invitees from renowned organizations like UNICEF, Central Square Foundation (CSF), AKSHARA Foundation, Language Learning Foundation (LLF), PRATHAM, and a representative from the Higher Education Department.
The move comes after careful consideration by the government to ensure the smooth rollout of NEP-2020, which aims to transform India’s education system by focusing on skill development, digital education, and equitable learning opportunities. The task force is expected to play a crucial role in aligning the state’s education policies with the national framework, addressing local challenges, and ensuring inclusive and quality education for all.
This reconstitution reflects Odisha’s proactive approach in adapting to the new educational landscape and its commitment to strengthening the state’s education system under the guidelines of NEP-2020.
