Odisha Police Hold Flag Marches Statewide

Police Conduct Flag Marches Across Odisha Ahead of Ram Navami

In a bid to ensure peace and security during the upcoming Ram Navami celebrations, personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and Odisha Police conducted flag marches in various sensitive areas across the state on Saturday.

The marches were part of a larger security preparedness initiative ahead of the religious festivities on Sunday. Flag marches were prominently carried out in Sambalpur, Cuttack, Balasore, Bhadrak, and several other districts identified as sensitive due to past incidents and large gatherings.

Senior police officials stated that extensive security arrangements have been made to maintain law and order, prevent any untoward incidents, and ensure smooth conduct of the celebrations. Surveillance has been intensified in vulnerable locations, and additional forces have been deployed in areas with a history of communal tension or large-scale public participation.

“Security forces are on high alert. We are coordinating with local authorities and community leaders to facilitate a peaceful and joyous Ram Navami for all,” a senior police official said.

Odisha Police have also issued public appeals urging citizens to maintain harmony, avoid spreading rumors, and cooperate with authorities during processions and public gatherings.

Ram Navami, which marks the birth of Lord Ram, is celebrated with grandeur in various parts of Odisha, often featuring processions, devotional songs, and public prayers.
