Odisha Plays Key Role in Strengthening UAE-India Bilateral Partnership: UAE Ambassador
Odisha is playing a pivotal role in bolstering the UAE-India bilateral partnership, as highlighted by Abdulnasser Alshaali, the Ambassador of the UAE to India, during a business roundtable meeting on Wednesday.
The event, organized by the UAE-India CEPA (Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement) Council in collaboration with the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), focused on enhancing economic, trade, and investment ties between the two regions.
“Odisha has played a critical role in supporting the UAE-India bilateral partnership,” Ambassador Alshaali stated. He emphasized the state’s highly developed minerals and industrial sector, along with its strong human capital, as areas of significant interest for UAE investors. “We are confident that today’s event will ensure businesses in Odisha take advantage of the economic, trade, and investment opportunities offered through the signing of the CEPA,” he added.
The UAE-India CEPA, signed in February 2022, aims to facilitate deeper economic cooperation and create a more robust framework for trade and investment between the two nations. The agreement has opened up numerous opportunities for businesses in both countries, particularly in sectors such as minerals, manufacturing, and services.
During the roundtable, discussions focused on leveraging Odisha’s strengths to attract UAE investments and enhance bilateral trade. Key stakeholders from various industries participated in the event, exploring potential collaborations and partnerships.
Odisha’s contribution to the UAE-India partnership has been notable, with several UAE-based companies already investing in the state’s mineral and industrial sectors. The roundtable aimed to build on this momentum and identify new areas for cooperation.
The ambassador’s remarks underscore the strategic importance of Odisha in the broader context of UAE-India relations. As both nations continue to deepen their economic ties, the role of states like Odisha becomes increasingly significant in driving mutual growth and prosperity.
The business roundtable concluded with a commitment to furthering collaboration and maximizing the benefits of the CEPA for businesses in Odisha and the UAE.
