Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and several political leaders paid heartfelt tribute to legendary statesman and former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik on his death anniversary on Thursday.

Taking to social media, CM Majhi wrote, “Humble tributes to the great public figure, freedom fighter and former Chief Minister of Odisha, Biju Patnaik, on his death anniversary. His contribution towards education and empowerment will always remain an inspiration for all. He was a proud Odia with self-esteem.”

Naveen Patnaik, Leader of Opposition in the Odisha Assembly and Biju Patnaik’s younger son, also offered floral tributes at Biju Patnaik Park in Bhubaneswar. Naveen Patnaik, himself a five-time chief minister, described his father’s vision and leadership as the cornerstone of Odisha’s development and identity.

Several other leaders across party lines also commemorated the day by recalling Biju Patnaik’s immense contributions to nation-building, particularly in the areas of education, aviation, and Odisha’s political awakening.

The former CM, a freedom fighter, pilot, and pioneering politician, remains a towering figure in Odisha’s history, admired for his progressive ideals and fearless spirit.
