Odisha Launches Mobile App for E-Registration

Odisha CM Launches E-Registration Mobile App to Streamline Land Services
Bhubaneswar, June 25 : In a major step toward digitizing public services, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday launched a new E-Registration Mobile App developed by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, aimed at transforming land registration services across the state.
Describing it as a “significant milestone” in Odisha’s digital governance journey, the Chief Minister said the app enables users to conveniently book registration slots, obtain certified copies of documents, and access encumbrance certificates (EC) for deeds—all directly from their Android smartphones.
The app also offers additional features such as checking the benchmark value of land and accessing detailed information about respective Sub-Registrar offices, making the entire process paperless and cashless. “This will help reduce crowding at Sub-Registrar offices and improve citizen convenience,” Majhi said at the launch event.
The Chief Minister highlighted key achievements of the Revenue Department under his government, including:
- Providing housing leases to 16,727 homeless individuals under the Vasundhara Yojana.
- Issuing permanent land leases to 20,385 government institutions, including primary and secondary schools.
- Recording the names of 1,16,486 legal heirs through a special drive to update land records.
- Surveying 4,61,602 land accounts, aimed at modernizing and updating land ownership data.
Majhi also unveiled a booklet that showcases the department’s year-long performance, calling it a testament to efficient and citizen-centric governance.
Speaking at the event, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari emphasized the state’s ambition to become India’s top performer in revenue services. He said the e-registration app is part of broader reforms to make the revenue administration more accessible, transparent, and people-friendly.
The new app is expected to significantly enhance the user experience, promote digital adoption, and support Odisha’s larger vision of e-governance and public service delivery at the grassroots level.
