Odisha Launches Mission PoWaR for Connectivity

Odisha to Launch ‘Mission PoWaR’ for Power, Water, and Road Connectivity
The Odisha government is set to roll out Mission PoWaR — an integrated initiative focusing on Power, Water, and Roads — to ensure uninterrupted electricity, clean drinking water, and last-mile road connectivity across the state.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed officials to implement the mission in a coordinated manner to improve the standard of living of citizens in both rural and urban areas. The initiative seeks to address three core infrastructure needs that directly impact daily life and overall development.
“Power, drinking water supply, and roads are the three basic facilities of citizens, irrespective of rural or urban areas. To address these issues comprehensively, Mission PoWaR will integrate planning and execution across departments,” an official release stated.
To operationalize the Chief Minister’s vision, a preparatory meeting was held in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday, chaired by Deputy Chief Minister K.V. Singh Deo. Senior officials from the energy, rural development, and housing and urban development departments attended the meeting to chalk out the roadmap for implementation.
The mission aims to synchronize efforts across departments, ensuring that infrastructure projects are completed efficiently and benefits reach the grassroots level. By addressing power supply reliability, safe drinking water availability, and road connectivity, Mission PoWaR is expected to significantly enhance Odisha’s rural and urban infrastructure landscape.
