Odisha Government Announces Major IPS Reshuffle, Appoints New DCPs for Bhubaneswar and Cuttack

In a significant reshuffle of its Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre, the Odisha government on Friday reassigned the portfolios of 26 officers, including the appointment of new Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) for Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
According to an official notification issued by the Home Department, Bhubaneswar DCP Pinaka Mishra has been replaced by Jagmohan Meena, who previously served as the DCP of Cuttack. Mishra, a 2011-batch officer, has now been appointed as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Special Task Force (STF) in Bhubaneswar.
Meanwhile, the post of DCP in Cuttack will now be held by Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo, a 2016-batch officer. He replaces Meena, a 2013-batch officer, who will now take charge as the DCP of the state capital.
The large-scale reshuffling aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of law enforcement in the state. The Odisha government frequently undertakes such reshuffles to ensure optimal policing and public safety in its urban and rural areas.
The newly appointed DCPs are expected to assume their new roles immediately, focusing on maintaining law and order, crime control, and ensuring public security in their respective jurisdictions.
Further details regarding the reshuffle of the remaining officers are awaited as the Odisha government continues its efforts to strengthen the state’s policing system.
