Odisha’s Revenue and Disaster Management Minister, Suresh Pujari, on Tuesday announced that the total damage caused by Cyclone Dana, which hit the state in late October, is estimated at Rs 616.19 crore.

Cyclone Dana made landfall on the eastern coast early on October 25, bringing heavy rains and powerful winds. The cyclone caused widespread destruction across 14 districts of Odisha, uprooting trees, damaging electric poles, and severely impacting infrastructure and crops.

Minister Pujari stated that the damage assessment revealed a financial loss of Rs 616.19 crore, with the most affected areas being those with significant agricultural and infrastructure damage. Efforts are underway to restore normalcy and provide relief to the affected communities.

The cyclone’s aftermath has led to a coordinated response from state authorities, aiming to clear debris, restore electricity, and support affected farmers. The government is also focused on long-term recovery efforts to mitigate future cyclone impacts.
