Odisha cooperatives onboarded on new RCS portal

RCS digital portal launched for Odisha cooperatives
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has said that all cooperative societies in Odisha have been onboarded onto the National Cooperative Database (NCD) portal following the launch of the integrated RCS digital portal.
In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Shah informed that the integrated Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS) digital portal was launched by the Union Home and Cooperation Ministry and went live on March 6, 2026.
According to the data shared, a total of 8,411 cooperative societies across the state have been registered on the NCD portal. Among the districts, Puri recorded the highest number with 756 societies, followed by Cuttack with 730 and Ganjam with 616.
Other districts with significant numbers include Jagatsinghpur with 560 societies, Bargarh with 438 and Khordha with 409 societies.
The minister noted that since the integrated RCS portal has been launched recently and implementation across many states and Union Territories is still underway, it is too early to assess measurable improvements in the functioning of RCS offices.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening transparency, digital governance and efficient management of cooperative societies across the country.
