Odisha CM Presents ₹2.90-Lakh Crore Budget for FY 2025-26, Focus on ‘Transformative’ Sectors

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday presented a ₹2.90-lakh crore state budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, emphasizing key sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, and irrigation.
Majhi, who also holds the finance portfolio, stated that the budget prioritizes “transformative” sectors, including urban development, capital investment, port-led growth, industrialization, and sports. The government aims to accelerate Odisha’s development by strengthening critical areas that drive economic growth and social welfare.
“This budget is designed to lay a strong foundation for Odisha’s progress. Our focus is on inclusive growth through significant investments in infrastructure, agriculture, and irrigation to enhance productivity and economic opportunities,” Majhi said.
This marks the first full-fledged budget of the BJP-led government in Odisha since coming to power last year. Previously, Majhi had presented an interim budget of ₹2.65 lakh crore for the 2024-25 fiscal in July 2024.
The budget allocations and policy measures are expected to provide a boost to key industries while ensuring sustainable development and welfare initiatives for the people of Odisha. More details on sector-wise allocations and new schemes are awaited.
