Odia Community Integral to Delhi, Says CM Rekha Gupta
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday said the Odia community living in the national capital is an integral part of the city and assured that their welfare remains a priority for the government.
Addressing the gathering at Odisha Parv 2026 held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Gupta highlighted the diverse cultural fabric of the capital and the contributions made by people from different states.
She said Delhi’s strength lies in its inclusiveness and its ability to embrace people from across the country. “Delhi welcomes everyone with an open heart and gives every resident the confidence that the city belongs to them,” the Chief Minister said.
Gupta also acknowledged the significant role played by the Odia community in the social, cultural and economic life of the city. She noted that events like Odisha Parv help showcase the rich traditions, art, cuisine and heritage of Odisha while strengthening cultural ties among communities in the capital.
The annual festival celebrates the culture and heritage of Odisha and attracts thousands of visitors each year, offering a platform for Odia artists, performers and entrepreneurs to display their talents and products.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting cultural diversity and ensuring the welfare and well-being of all communities residing in Delhi.
