NTPC REL Starts 288.9 MW Supply

NTPC Renewable Energy Begins 288.9 MW Commercial Power Supply in Gujarat
NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL), a step-down subsidiary of NTPC Ltd, has commenced the commercial supply of 288.9 megawatts (MW) of electricity from its solar energy projects in Gujarat, the company announced on Saturday.
In an official statement, NTPC said it has begun commercial operation of 142.2 MW from its 300 MW Khavda Solar Energy Project, which is part of the 450 MW Hybrid Tranche 5 Project in the Khavda region of Gujarat.
Additionally, the company has operationalised 146.7 MW out of the massive 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Project in the state, further boosting its contribution to India’s green energy transition.
The Khavda region has emerged as a key hub for renewable energy in India, with NTPC playing a pivotal role in developing large-scale solar and hybrid energy projects aimed at strengthening the national grid with clean power.
With this development, NTPC REL continues to make steady progress in meeting NTPC Group’s ambitious target of 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032. The company is actively expanding its renewable footprint, aligning with India’s commitment to a sustainable and low-carbon energy future.
