Payment technology company Phi Commerce has announced a new suite of platforms and strategic initiatives aimed at expanding its role beyond digital payments and into financial infrastructure for banks, payment aggregators and digital-commerce platforms.
The announcements were made at Global Fintech Fest 2026 and include new capabilities spanning UPI-native credit, bank issuer infrastructure, net-banking connectivity and open-commerce financing.
According to the company, the new platforms are designed to enable financial institutions and digital businesses to build and deliver new payment and credit experiences through a unified technology infrastructure.
Phi Commerce's expanded offering reflects the broader evolution of India's digital payments ecosystem, where UPI is increasingly being used not only for transactions but also as a foundation for credit, commerce and embedded financial services.
The company's UPI-native credit infrastructure is positioned to help financial institutions integrate credit experiences into UPI-led payment journeys. At the same time, its issuer-focused infrastructure is aimed at supporting banks and other financial institutions in managing and delivering digital payment products.
Phi Commerce is also expanding its connectivity capabilities through net-banking infrastructure, while its open-commerce financing initiatives seek to connect credit with emerging digital-commerce ecosystems.
The company said the initiatives are part of its strategy to build technology infrastructure that enables banks, payment aggregators and commerce platforms to participate in the next phase of India's digital financial ecosystem.
The announcements come as India's fintech sector continues to evolve from basic payment acceptance toward interconnected platforms combining payments, credit, banking and commerce.
With its latest initiatives, Phi Commerce is seeking to position itself as an infrastructure provider supporting this transition, rather than operating solely as a payments technology company.
