US-based local commerce platform DoorDash on Wednesday opened its first India office in Hyderabad, marking its entry into the country with a new talent hub focused on technology and support operations.
The company will initially have around 500 professionals working from the Hyderabad facility and plans to expand its workforce to more than 3,000 employees over the next two years, according to a company release.
Telangana Industries and Commerce Minister D Sridhar Babu inaugurated the facility in the presence of DoorDash Chief Financial Officer Ravi Inukonda, Senior Director of Workforce Strategy and Talent Acquisition Operations Jenna Kohnke, and Telangana government's IT Advisor Sai Krishna.
The Hyderabad talent hub is expected to support DoorDash's technology and business operations as the company expands its presence and capabilities in India.
The opening of the facility also strengthens Hyderabad's position as a major technology and talent hub, attracting global companies and creating opportunities for professionals in technology and support functions.
With plans to increase its workforce six-fold from the initial 500 employees, DoorDash's Hyderabad expansion is expected to add significant technology and support capabilities over the coming two years.
