On this significant occasion, Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh laid a wreath at the National War Memorial, India Gate, to pay homage to the fallen heroes on behalf of the NCC fraternity.

He emphasized the organization’s pivotal role in the “Viksit Bharat” campaign, a government initiative focused on shaping the youth into responsible citizens to build a developed India. Singh further stated, “NCC continues its relentless efforts in moulding today’s youth into responsible citizens for tomorrow’s India.”
As part of the celebrations, NCC cadets across India are participating in march pasts and engaging in various cultural and social activities. Traditional blood donation camps are being organized, with the aim to surpass last year’s donation of 50,000 units. Additionally, NCC cadets are involved in tree plantation drives, statue cleaning, cleanliness initiatives (Swachhta hi Sewa), and the Nasha Mukti Abhiyaan (anti-drug campaign).
The NCC has also overhauled its syllabus and training programs to align with government initiatives such as Skill Manthan, Cyber Awareness (I4C), and training with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). These changes aim to build the cadets’ character and confidence, further contributing to the vision of a “Viksit Bharat.”
