Union Minister Smt. Annpurna Devi to Launch National Campaign #AbKoiBahanaNahi Tomorrow

New Delhi, 24 November 2024: Smt. Annpurna Devi, Union Minister for Women and Child Development, will launch the national campaign #AbKoiBahanaNahi on 25th November 2024 at Rang Bhawan, All India Radio, New Delhi. The event will also be graced by Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister for Rural Development, and Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications.

This campaign, a collaborative initiative of the Ministries of Women and Child Development and Rural Development, supported by UN Women, aims to amplify the call for actionable steps to eliminate gender-based violence. Launched alongside the Ministry of Rural Development’s Nayi Chetna 3.0 campaign, it seeks to ensure a broad and inclusive outreach, leaving no one behind in this critical mission.

The campaign aligns with the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, observed globally from 25th November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to 10th December (Human Rights Day). Building on the global United Nations theme #NoExcuse, #AbKoiBahanaNahi underscores India’s commitment to a zero-tolerance approach toward gender-based violence.

A key highlight of the event will be the release of a campaign film, emphasizing the need for accountability from all stakeholders, including every citizen, to pledge against gender-based violence.

The Government of India’s campaign urges everyone to take a stand against violence, reiterating the urgency of creating a society free of fear and discrimination. With #AbKoiBahanaNahi, the focus is on revitalizing national commitments, ensuring accountability, and fostering action to safeguard women and girls.
