The 12th edition of MTB Shimla, one of India’s most prestigious mountain biking events, is set to kick off on May 16, drawing over 120 cyclists from 20 states across the country. Spanning three days, the challenging race will cover a 120-kilometre route through the scenic yet rugged terrain of Himachal Pradesh.
Organized by the Himalayan Adventure Sports and Tourism Promotion Association (HASTPA), in collaboration with Himachal Tourism, the Government of Himachal Pradesh, and the Cycling Association of Himachal Pradesh, the event aims to promote adventure sports and eco-tourism in the region.
The rally will be flagged off by Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu from the iconic Ridge in Shimla on May 16. Riders will traverse a mix of trails, forest paths, and steep ascents, testing their endurance and skill amid breathtaking Himalayan landscapes.
MTB Shimla has grown in stature over the years, becoming a key fixture in the national cycling calendar and attracting both amateur and professional cyclists. Organizers hope this edition will further boost interest in adventure sports and position Himachal Pradesh as a leading destination for mountain biking in India.
With safety and sustainability at the forefront, the event will also emphasize responsible tourism and environmental awareness throughout the race.
