Mouni Roy alleges harassment by elderly men at Haryana event

Actor Mouni Roy on Saturday alleged that she was harassed by a group of elderly men during a recent event in Haryana, an incident she said left her humiliated and traumatised.

In a lengthy note shared through a series of Instagram stories, Roy said the incident occurred while she was performing in Karnal. The actor expressed disgust over the behaviour of some men who, she claimed, tried to touch her under the pretext of taking photographs.

“They placed their hands on my waist and behaved inappropriately. When I asked them not to do so, they did not like it,” Roy wrote, adding that the experience left her shaken.

The actor said she had “no words” to describe the humiliation she felt and decided to speak out about the incident to highlight the lack of basic respect women often face in public spaces.

Roy, who rose to fame with the television series Naagin and later appeared in films such as Gold and Made in China, did not specify whether a formal complaint had been lodged.

There was no immediate reaction from the event organisers or local authorities.
