Manu Bhaker Falls Short of Grand Treble, Misses Bronze at Olympics

In a dramatic turn of events, Indian shooting star Manu Bhaker narrowly missed achieving a historic grand treble at the Olympic Games on Saturday. Bhaker’s quest for a third Olympic medal fell short after she lost the tie-shoot for bronze in the women’s 25m sports pistol event to Hungary’s Veronika Major by the slimmest of margins.
Bhaker, a sensation in the shooting world, showcased her remarkable skills throughout the final. At one point, she held the top position among the eight finalists, but was unable to sustain her early lead. Despite her valiant efforts and high-quality performance, Bhaker ultimately finished outside the medal positions.
The 22-year-old’s Olympic journey was not without its triumphs. She will return home with two bronze medals, having secured third place in both the women’s 10m air pistol and the mixed team 10m air pistol alongside partner Sarabjot Singh.
Bhaker’s performance in the 25m sports pistol event was a testament to her incredible talent and determination, though it was not enough to secure a place on the podium. Her achievements at these Games, including her dual bronze medals, reflect her status as one of India’s premier shooting athletes.
