Kashi Tamil Sangamam 3.0 Inaugurated by Dharmendra Pradhan, Yogi Adityanath, and Dr. L. Murugan

The third edition of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam (KTS 3.0) was officially inaugurated today in Varanasi by Union Minister for Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Union Minister of State Dr. L. Murugan. The grand event, which aims to celebrate the deep-rooted cultural and historical ties between Tamil Nadu and Kashi, will run for ten days with nearly 1,200 delegates from Tamil Nadu in attendance.

This year’s central theme is Sage Agasthyar, one of the revered sages in Indian tradition, known for his immense contributions to health, philosophy, science, linguistics, literature, polity, culture, and art—particularly in shaping Tamil heritage. A dedicated exhibition showcasing various aspects of Sage Agasthyar’s legacy will be held, along with seminars, workshops, and book releases.

Historic Experience for Delegates

For the first time, participants of KTS 3.0 will have the opportunity to experience Mahakumbh and visit the newly inaugurated Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, making this edition even more special.

Strengthening the Kashi-Tamil Nadu Connection

Speaking at the event, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized that Kashi Tamil Sangamam is a testament to India’s unity in diversity, reinforcing the cultural, spiritual, and intellectual bonds between North and South India. Yogi Adityanath welcomed Tamil delegates, stating that Varanasi and Tamil Nadu share an unbreakable civilizational bond, and events like KTS 3.0 will help rejuvenate these historic ties.

KTS 2.0 and Its Legacy

The previous edition, KTS 2.0, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in December 2023 and featured a groundbreaking app-based real-time Tamil translation of the PM’s speech for visiting Tamil delegates.

KTS 3.0 is set to be an immersive and enriching experience for all attendees, further strengthening the spiritual and cultural bridge between Tamil Nadu and Kashi.
