Jio strengthens Odisha telecom market leadership

Reliance Jio added 1.85 lakh subscribers in Odisha in November 2025, boosting its market share to 47.3% and consolidating telecom leadership.
Bhubaneswar, Jan 3 : Reliance Jio has further consolidated its position as the leading telecom operator in Odisha by adding around 1.85 lakh new subscribers across wireless, wireline, and fixed wireless access (FWA) segments in November 2025.
According to the latest data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Jio recorded the highest growth in the state, with over 1.59 lakh new mobile subscribers and more than 25,000 new home broadband users during the month.
In comparison, Jio’s closest competitor, Airtel, saw a decline of over 10,000 mobile subscribers in November, while Vodafone Idea and BSNL showed marginal growth, adding 3,027 and 2,433 mobile users, respectively.
With this performance, Jio now serves approximately 1.71 crore mobile subscribers in Odisha, capturing over 47.3 percent of the state’s market share as of November 30, 2025. The company credited this achievement to strong consumer trust, the technological strength of its all-IP 4G and True 5G networks, and the affordable JioBharat 4G phone, which has enabled thousands of 2G users—particularly in rural and remote areas—to upgrade to 4G services.
TRAI data also showed that Odisha’s total mobile subscriber base increased by 1.54 lakh in November, crossing 3.61 crore users by the end of the month.
At the national level, Reliance Jio continued to drive India’s telecom growth in November 2025, adding more than 21.6 lakh new subscribers across wireless, wireline, and FWA segments, including 13.88 lakh mobile users and over 5 lakh FWA users nationwide.
Jio also maintained its dominance in Odisha’s home broadband market. Over 25,000 JioFiber and JioAirFiber subscribers were added during November, taking the total number of Jio broadband users in the state to more than 6.66 lakh. Notably, JioAirFiber alone added over 19,000 new users to its 5G FWA and UBR FWA services during the month.
Reliance Jio’s strong growth underscores its leadership in Odisha’s telecom sector, driven by a combination of technological innovation, affordable devices, and expansive network coverage.
