IndiGo to Launch Business Class Seats on 12 Domestic Routes in November

IndiGo, India’s largest airline, announced plans to introduce business class seats on 12 domestic routes starting in mid-November. The airline’s CEO, Pieter Elbers, revealed the move at an event on Monday celebrating IndiGo’s 18 years of operations.

The business class seats will be available for booking from Tuesday, marking a significant shift for the airline, which has traditionally operated as a low-cost carrier with an all-economy class configuration.

Elbers noted that the new seating option will be rolled out on some of the busiest and most frequently traveled business routes, including select flights from New Delhi. This move is seen as a strategic effort to attract business travelers who seek more comfort and premium services.

The introduction of business class is part of IndiGo’s broader strategy to diversify its offerings and cater to a wider range of passengers as it continues to dominate the domestic market. The airline has been steadily expanding its services, and this latest development is expected to enhance its appeal among corporate and high-end customers.

IndiGo’s decision to offer business class seating aligns with its ongoing efforts to innovate and meet evolving customer needs, positioning the airline to maintain its competitive edge in the growing Indian aviation market.
