India Wins 19 Medals at Fazza Para-Badminton

Indian Shuttlers Win 19 Medals at Fazza Para Badminton International

Indian para-badminton players put up a stellar performance at the 6th Fazza Para Badminton International tournament, bringing home a total of 19 medals, including 1 gold, 4 silver, and 14 bronze, in Dubai.

The standout performance came from the pair of Sivarajan Solaimalai and Sudarsan Saravanakumar Muthusamy, who claimed India’s only gold medal. They won the men’s doubles SH6 finals after their top-seeded opponents, Hong Kong’s Chu Man Kai and Wong Chun Yim, withdrew from the match, handing the Indian duo a walkover.

Veteran shuttler Umesh Vikram Kumar also impressed with his consistency, securing silver in both the Standing Lower SL3 singles and men’s doubles finals. Meanwhile, Hardik Makkar and Ruthick Ragupathi earned silver after a tough battle in the men’s doubles Standing Upper SU5 finals, where they were defeated by the top-seeded Malaysian pair of Cheah Like Hou and Muhammad Fareez Anuar.

India’s 19-medal tally underscores the country’s growing strength in para-badminton, with the sport continuing to gain recognition and success on the international stage.
