Tragedy struck Rourkela city in Odisha as ten people succumbed to suspected heatstroke amidst soaring temperatures across the eastern state. The fatalities occurred rapidly, with eight individuals pronounced dead upon arrival at Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH), and two more passing away during treatment.

Dr. Sudharani Pradhan, Director-in-charge of RGH, attributed the deaths to the intense heatwave conditions prevailing in the region. The incidents occurred within a span of six hours, highlighting the severity of the situation.

As temperatures rise sharply in Odisha, authorities urge residents to take precautionary measures to avoid heat-related illnesses. Health officials continue to monitor the situation closely to prevent further casualties.
