FPIs Invest Rs 30,772 Crore in Indian Equities in July

Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) have invested Rs 30,772 crore in Indian equities so far in July, reflecting strong investor confidence driven by anticipated policy reforms, sustained economic growth, and an unexpectedly robust earnings season.
Himanshu Srivastava, Associate Director – Manager Research at Morningstar Investment Research India, noted that the positive investor sentiment is further bolstered by expectations of a reform-oriented budget. This optimism about India’s economic prospects and policy environment has encouraged significant foreign investment in the stock market.
VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services, added that if the recent trend of a weakening dollar and declining bond yields continues, FPIs are likely to maintain their buying activity in the Indian market. This trend suggests a favorable outlook for foreign investments in the near term.
The influx of foreign capital highlights India’s attractiveness as an investment destination amidst global economic uncertainties. The strong investment figures for July signal robust confidence in India’s economic trajectory and its financial markets.
As FPIs continue to show interest, the Indian equity market is expected to benefit from sustained capital inflows, supporting further growth and stability.
