Fire Detected on Falaknuma Express in Odisha, Doused Promptly; Major Mishap Averted

A major accident was narrowly averted on Friday when a fire broke out in the last bogie of the 12704 Secunderabad-Howrah Falaknuma Express while it was stationed at Kantapada railway station in Odisha’s Balasore district.

According to a railway official, alertness on the part of the gateman at Kantapada helped prevent a disaster. The gateman noticed smoke billowing from the last coach of the train and quickly informed the station master, prompting immediate action.

The train was detained at the station for approximately 45 minutes as railway personnel and fire services swiftly brought the fire under control. No casualties or injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Railway officials praised the timely response of the gateman and emergency teams, which ensured the safety of all passengers on board. Train services resumed after the affected coach was secured and declared safe.
