Diu remains Khelo India Beach Games venue

Diu confirmed as permanent Khelo India Beach Games venue until next host
Diu will continue to serve as the permanent venue for the Khelo India Beach Games (KIBG) during the January window until a new host is announced, with the Sports Ministry confirming that the coastal town will also host the 2027 edition.
Akshay Kotalwar, nodal officer for the Khelo India Beach Games 2026, said the decision comes after the successful conduct of the first two editions and the enhanced planning implemented this year.
“Having organised the first multi-sport beach games on our own in 2024 successfully, the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs entrusted us with organising the inaugural Khelo India Beach Games last year,” Kotalwar told PTI.
Diu’s consistent role as the host underscores its growing reputation as a hub for beach sports in India, providing world-class infrastructure and a scenic setting for athletes across various disciplines. The Sports Ministry said the decision ensures continuity and better planning for future editions of the games.
