Ex-MLA Dipali Das Urges Odisha Government to Clarify Stance on CBI Probe into Father’s Murder

Bhubaneswar, Jan 16: Former MLA and BJD leader Dipali Das has asked Odisha government to clarify its position on a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the murder of her father, Naba Kishore Das. The former health minister was allegedly shot dead by a policeman on January 29, 2023, sparking widespread outrage.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Dipali expressed her anguish over allegations leveled against her family and urged the BJP-led state government to take decisive action. “In the last Assembly session, two BJP legislators raised the issue, and sections of the media and social media are questioning why I am not demanding a CBI probe. As a daughter, I am deeply hurt by such allegations,” she said.

She further questioned the government’s commitment to justice, asking, “Will the Mohan Majhi government conduct a CBI probe? Fingers are being pointed at our family—will the government stand with us?”

Dipali also appealed to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to meet her family and discuss the case personally. “I request the CM to meet us, understand our pain, and take necessary action,” she said.

The murder of Naba Kishore Das, who was a prominent leader in Odisha, continues to raise questions about law and order in the state. Dipali’s plea for clarity on the CBI investigation reflects the broader demand for transparency and accountability in the case.
