Dharmendra Pradhan Leads “Swachhata Hi Sewa” Campaign at Delhi University’s ARSD College
New Delhi, September 25: On the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan led a “Swachhata Hi Sewa” campaign at Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma (ARSD) College, University of Delhi, on Thursday. The event, organised by the Ministry of Education, was part of the nationwide Swacchotsav celebrations inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for a “Swachh Bharat.”
Shri Pradhan participated in Shramdaan along with students, faculty, and officials, emphasizing that cleanliness should not be confined to a single day but must become a way of life. “Practicing cleanliness should be an everyday habit. Together, we must work to build a bright, clean, healthy, and prosperous India for the generations to come,” he said.
Engaging with students, the Minister highlighted their central role in the vision of Viksit Bharat. He urged the youth to dedicate at least one hour every week towards Swachhta and underlined the importance of discipline, social responsibility, and active contribution to national growth. “The confidence and enthusiasm of young minds always inspire me. They are the torchbearers of a clean and developed India,” he noted.
Shri Pradhan also recalled Prime Minister Modi’s appeal for Aatmanirbharta and Swadeshi, encouraging students to adopt local products and support the Vocal for Local campaign. He said the younger generation must contribute to India’s growth story as the nation advances towards becoming a developed economy.
