Odisha to irrigate 15 lakh hectares in three years: CM Majhi
Keonjhar, Dec 26 : Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday announced that 15 lakh hectares of agricultural land in the state will receive irrigation facilities over the next three years.
Majhi made the announcement while addressing farmers in his home district of Keonjhar during the inauguration of the paddy procurement process. He emphasized that the initiative aims to improve agricultural productivity and support farmers across Odisha.
The Chief Minister also informed that the Kanpur irrigation project in Keonjhar district is scheduled to be inaugurated within the next two to three months, which will further enhance irrigation coverage and benefit local farming communities.
Majhi’s remarks underline the state government’s commitment to expanding irrigation infrastructure and ensuring sustainable water supply for agriculture, boosting both crop yield and farmer livelihoods.
