CM Majhi Lauds Brahma Kumaris’ 50-Year Journey of Service, Launches ‘Prosperous Odisha, Golden Odisha’ Campaign

Bhubaneswar, Nov 17:Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday hailed the Brahma Kumaris for their five-decade-long contribution to emotional well-being, stress relief, and social harmony, describing the organisation’s journey as “a path of human awakening, spiritual elevation, and divine service.”

Speaking at the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the Bhubaneswar Brahma Kumaris branch, the Chief Minister launched the campaign “Prosperous Odisha, Golden Odisha.” He commended the institution for empowering women, promoting meditation practices, and helping lakhs overcome depression, addiction, and emotional distress.

Majhi said that adopting a spiritual lifestyle fosters simplicity, humility, and responsible use of natural resources. He praised the global influence of Brahma Kumari Sister Shivani, noting that her teachings on emotional balance and mindful living have earned her a special place in India’s spiritual landscape.

Expressing optimism about the organisation’s continued growth, he said he hoped to see its message of peace spread from Mount Abu to global centres such as New York, Nairobi, and London. The Chief Minister also appreciated the Bhubaneswar branch for its strong contribution to this mission.

Highlighting the importance of Raja Yoga and meditation, Majhi said these practices nurture discipline and compassion—qualities essential for effective and empathetic governance. When administration operates with empathy, he said, it strengthens public trust and societal values.

Drawing parallels between the state’s development goals and the new Brahma Kumaris initiative, the Chief Minister reiterated the Government’s vision of building a prosperous and developed Odisha by 2036.

Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan also addressed the gathering, stating that the Brahma Kumaris have spent five decades “beautifying society” and guiding people toward peace and harmony.

The celebration was attended by Brahma Kumari Sister Shivani, Dr. Banarasi Bhai, Shaktiraj Bhai, Geeta Didi from the Bhubaneswar branch, and Ekamra Bhubaneswar MLA Babu Singh.
