Chief Minister Majhi Seeks Support for ‘New Odisha’ Vision

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has called for the cooperation of senior officers from the state currently serving in various central government departments to support the ambitious ‘New Odisha’ initiative. The goal is to transform Odisha into a developed state by 2036, marking the centenary of the state’s formation.

Majhi made this appeal during a meeting with Odisha cadre IAS officers and other senior officials on central deputation in New Delhi on Sunday. He emphasized the state’s vision of achieving significant development milestones by 2047, which will also coincide with India’s 100 years of Independence.

Addressing reporters, Majhi outlined the strategic plans for ‘New Odisha,’ which include comprehensive development projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure, education, healthcare, and overall economic growth. He stressed the importance of leveraging the expertise and influence of Odisha officers in central positions to advance these objectives.

The meeting was attended by key figures including Deputy Chief Ministers K V Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, and other senior officials from the Odisha government. Their presence underscored the collective commitment to the state’s development goals and the strategic role of central officers in achieving them.

Majhi’s vision for a ‘New Odisha’ aims to position the state as a leader in development within the next decade, focusing on long-term growth and prosperity.
