Brazil, Nigeria boost Indian pharma exports

Brazil, Nigeria Emerge as Key Export Markets for Indian Pharmaceuticals
Brazil and Nigeria are emerging as important export destinations for Indian pharmaceutical companies amid ongoing global economic uncertainties, according to data released by the commerce ministry.
Nigeria has emerged as one of the fastest-growing markets for Indian pharmaceutical exports, registering an increase of USD 179 million during the first eight months of the current financial year. The growth accounted for over 14 per cent of India’s total pharmaceutical export expansion during the period, reflecting rising demand in the West African nation.
Brazil has also shown strong momentum as an export destination. During April–November FY26, pharmaceutical exports to the South American country increased by nearly USD 100 million, the data showed.
The rising exports to Brazil and Nigeria highlight India’s growing footprint in emerging markets and underscore the resilience of the pharmaceutical sector despite global economic headwinds.
