BJP Triumphs in Delhi: PM Modi Declares ‘Anarchy and Arrogance of AAPda Defeated’

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) landslide victory in the Delhi Assembly elections as a “historic” moment, stating that the people have rejected “shortcuts, lies, and deceit” in politics.

Addressing party workers at the BJP headquarters, Modi said the mandate was a clear endorsement of “development, vision, and trust” while rejecting the “anarchy and arrogance” of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The PM coined the term ‘AAPda’ while referring to AAP’s governance in the National Capital.

“The people of Delhi have removed a major obstacle in the way of the city’s development. The politics of protests, confrontation, and administrative uncertainty has caused immense harm, but now, Delhi has chosen the path of progress,” Modi said.

The BJP secured 47 seats and was leading in one, while AAP managed to win 22 seats. The Congress failed to secure any seats. This marks BJP’s return to power in Delhi after 27 years.

CAG Report and Corruption Crackdown

The Prime Minister assured that the BJP government would table the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report in the first assembly session and take strict action against corruption.

“I assure you that the CAG report will be presented in the first assembly session. Those involved in corruption will not be spared, and the looted money will be recovered,” Modi said.

Development Agenda for Delhi

Outlining his vision for the capital, the Prime Minister promised significant improvements in urban infrastructure, mobility, and employment opportunities for the youth.

“I believe urbanization is an opportunity. Delhi is the gateway of the country, and it should have the best urban infrastructure,” he said.

On the long-pending issue of the Yamuna river’s pollution, Modi reiterated his commitment to rejuvenating it. “I pledged during the campaign to make Yamuna the identity of Delhi. This work is challenging and will take time, but we will work with full dedication,” he added.

AAP’s Governance Criticized

Modi accused the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government of stalling key developmental projects, including the expansion of the Delhi Metro and the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat health scheme.

“What kind of politics is this? What mentality is this that they stopped metro expansion, denied slum dwellers permanent homes, and refused to implement Ayushman Bharat for the people of Delhi?” he questioned.

Promise of Good Governance

In his concluding remarks, Modi expressed gratitude to the people of Delhi and assured them of effective governance.

“Delhi has given us immense love, and I assure you that we will return it in double measure through development,” he said.

The BJP’s victory marks a political shift in Delhi, setting the stage for a new chapter in the capital’s governance.
