BJP Government in Odisha Will Usher in Record Development : PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded the inauguration of the first BJP government in Odisha as a historic event, expressing confidence that it will usher in record development for the state. The Prime Minister attended the swearing-in ceremony held in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, where Mohan Charan Majhi was sworn in as the Chief Minister, along with his deputies Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida.

In a message posted on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Modi congratulated the newly appointed Chief Minister and his team, emphasizing the significance of this political milestone. “It’s a historic day in Odisha! With the blessings of my sisters and brothers of Odisha, @BJP4Odisha is forming its first-ever government in the state,” he wrote.

The swearing-in ceremony, held at Janata Maidan, was attended by several Union ministers, chief ministers from various states, and a large gathering of BJP supporters and dignitaries. Governor Raghubar Das administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new council of ministers.

Modi’s presence at the ceremony underscored the central government’s support for the newly formed state government. In his address, he expressed optimism that the BJP-led administration under Majhi’s leadership would drive Odisha towards unprecedented development, focusing on inclusive growth and the upliftment of tribal communities.
