BHEL Secures 1,600 MW Thermal Power Project from DVC

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has been awarded a major contract for a 1,600 MW thermal power project by the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC). The project, set to be located in the Koderma district of Jharkhand, will be developed on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) basis.

The contract encompasses the construction of the Koderma Supercritical Thermal Power Project (STPP), featuring two 800 MW coal-based units. This significant award was secured through an International Competitive Bidding (ICB) process, underscoring BHEL’s strong position in the global energy sector.

The Koderma STPP will play a crucial role in enhancing the region’s power generation capacity and supporting the growing energy demands of the area. The project reflects BHEL’s continued commitment to delivering large-scale, high-efficiency power solutions and its capability in executing major infrastructure projects.
