Bharat Parv 2026 Kicks Off at Red Fort Celebrating India’s Culture
The six-day national cultural festival, Bharat Parv 2026, was inaugurated on Monday at the historic Red Fort as part of the Republic Day celebrations. Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, the festival showcases India’s rich cultural diversity, folk heritage, and modern aspirations.
The event was inaugurated by Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla in the presence of Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Secretary Tourism Shri Suman Billa, and other dignitaries. In his address, Shri Birla described Bharat Parv as a celebration of India’s “multifaceted soul,” highlighting its significance this year as the nation commemorates 150 years of the national song, Vande Mataram.
Shri Birla emphasized that the festival pays tribute to artists, artisans, farmers, and weavers, whose collective efforts preserve India’s traditions while shaping the identity of modern India. “Bharat Parv demonstrates how technology, art, human resources, and traditional knowledge come together to create harmony between tradition and progress,” he added.
Union Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat highlighted that Bharat Parv provides a grand platform to showcase India’s folk culture and traditions. He noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is giving unprecedented importance to preserving and promoting its cultural heritage, linking it with national development.
Bharat Parv 2026 aims to:
- Highlight India’s diverse cultural heritage
- Promote domestic tourism
- Provide a platform for artisans and States/UTs
- Generate tourism awareness
- Strengthen national integration through cultural participation
Major attractions include:
- Display of 41 Republic Day tableaux
- 48 cultural performances by State/UT troupes, North Zonal Cultural Centre, Sangeet Natak Akademi, and renowned artists
- 22 performances by Armed Forces and Paramilitary Bands
- A grand food court with 60 stalls featuring cuisines from across India and live cooking demonstrations
- 102 handicraft and handloom stalls from States, Central Ministries, DC Handicrafts, DC Handlooms, and TRIFED
- 34 State Tourism Pavilions and 24 Central Ministry stalls
- Interactive activity zones including nukkad nataks, quizzes, children’s engagement areas, and experiential spaces
The festival sees participation from all States and Union Territories, over 25 Central Ministries, and leading institutions from across the country.

- 27–31 Jan 2026: 12:00 Noon – 9:00 PM
Bharat Parv 2026 not only celebrates India’s cultural grandeur but also serves as a platform to promote tourism, national integration, and the country’s artistic heritage.
