Akshaya Patra-Inspired Drive Tackles US Student Hunger
An initiative inspired by Akshaya Patra Foundation has brought attention to the growing issue of food insecurity among college students in the United States, urging support from the Indian-American community.
The Consulate General of India in New York, in collaboration with World Food Movement, hosted a special event titled “No One Hungry” to address the concern and promote solutions.
The World Food Movement had launched a programme in September last year aimed at providing hot, nutritious meals to students across community colleges in New York, New Jersey, Boston and California. The initiative targets serving one million meals annually across the US by 2030.
The effort highlights the increasing challenges faced by students struggling with access to regular meals and underscores the role of community-driven initiatives in tackling hunger.
