Aditi Ashok Struggles in Opening Round at Mizuho Americas Open

Indian golfer Aditi Ashok had a tough outing in the first round of the Mizuho Americas Open, carding a five-over 77 at the Liberty National Golf Club on Thursday. The disappointing start placed her in a tie for 113th (T-113) on the leaderboard, significantly behind the frontrunners and leaving her with work to do to make the weekend cut.

Aditi, who began her round on the front nine, stumbled early with bogeys on the first, second, and eighth holes. Despite showing some resilience with two birdies during her round, she was unable to regain momentum, adding two more bogeys and a costly double bogey to her scorecard.

The rough start has put her in a challenging position heading into the second round. She will need a sharp turnaround and a low score on Friday to stay in contention and avoid an early exit.

Aditi, one of India’s most accomplished golfers, has had a solid season so far, and fans will be hopeful that she can recover and put up a fight in the remaining rounds.
