Renowned philosopher, author, and Vedanta teacher Acharya Prashant was conferred the prestigious ‘Most Impactful Environmentalist’ award by the Green Society of India on the occasion of World Environment Day on Thursday. The honour recognises his unique efforts in intertwining spiritual clarity with ecological consciousness, and for inspiring millions to adopt a more sustainable, conscious lifestyle.
Speaking at the World Environment Conference 2025 in Greater Noida, Acharya Prashant emphasized the inner dimension of the climate crisis, stating, “The climate crisis is not just outside, it’s inside. The glaciers are melting because our minds are burning with greed. Oceans are rising because our desires know no bounds.”
The award celebrates his work that goes beyond traditional environmental advocacy, focusing instead on addressing the root causes of ecological degradation through a spiritual lens. His teachings, delivered through the PrashantAdvait Foundation, have reached a wide audience across India and abroad, particularly the youth.
In response to the escalating climate emergency, Acharya Prashant has launched “Operation 2030”, a bold, youth-driven initiative aligned with the UN’s 1.5°C climate target. The campaign aims to cultivate a new generation of leaders grounded in inner transformation, ecological awareness, and a deep sense of collective responsibility.
“We are not running out of time—we’ve already run out. 2030 is not just a policy target; it is our planetary lifeline,” he told the gathering. “Nobody is coming to save the planet. It begins with you.”
With over 160 books authored, and a growing network of eco-conscious programs and campaigns, Acharya Prashant continues to be a powerful voice at the intersection of spirituality, youth empowerment, and environmental stewardship.
