MCap of Top-10 Firms Soars by Rs 2.10 Lakh Cr; TCS and LIC Lead Gains

The combined market capitalization of eight out of the top-10 most valued firms surged by Rs 2,10,330.26 crore in the previous week, despite a shortened trading session due to the holiday. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) were the standout performers.
The BSE benchmark index, the Sensex, experienced a modest rise of 85.31 points or 0.10% over the week. On Friday, the Sensex reached a new all-time high of 81,587.76, reflecting positive investor sentiment and robust market performance.
The gains in market capitalization for the leading firms were driven by strong performances from TCS and LIC, which saw significant increases in their respective stock values. This uplift in valuations underscores the growing confidence in these major players within the Indian market.
The stock markets were closed on Wednesday in observance of Muharram, which shortened the trading week. Despite this, the market’s overall performance demonstrated resilience and continued upward momentum, marking a strong week for the Indian equity markets.
The impressive rise in market capitalization highlights the significant influence of key companies like TCS and LIC on the broader market, as well as the ongoing strength of the Indian financial sector.
