Assamese film selected for international festival in US

Assamese feature film Moi Eti Nixhasor has been selected as an Official Selection at the WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival in the United States, marking a significant achievement for regional cinema.

The film’s director, National Award-winning filmmaker Bidyut Kotoky, said the movie has also been nominated for one of the prestigious Remi Awards at the festival. The 59th edition of the international film festival will take place from April 24 to May 3 in Houston, Texas, United States.

Expressing his happiness over the recognition, Kotoky said it was a proud moment for the entire team involved in making the film. He noted that the selection at such a globally reputed festival highlights the dedication and hard work of the cast and crew.

The WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival is one of the oldest independent film festivals in the world and is known for honouring outstanding works in global cinema through its Remi Awards. The inclusion of Moi Eti Nixhasor in the official selection category brings international attention to Assamese filmmaking and regional storytelling.
