Dr. Gautam Das Conferred Dr. M. J. Joshi – IMA Bhushan Award at MULTICON 2025
Dr. Gautam Das, founder of Daradia: The Pain Clinic, Kolkata, and one of India’s leading pioneers in pain medicine, was conferred the prestigious Dr. M. J. Joshi – IMA Bhushan Award by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Pune, during MULTICON 2025, held on December 7.
The award recognizes Dr. Das’s outstanding and sustained contributions to the field of pain management, clinical excellence, medical education, and service to society. His work through Daradia: The Pain Clinic has played a transformative role in advancing pain medicine in India, benefiting thousands of patients while also training medical professionals across the country.
Instituted in 2014 by Dr. Madhuri Lokapur and her family, the Dr. M. J. Joshi – IMA Bhushan Award commemorates the legacy of Dr. M. J. Joshi, a distinguished surgeon, revered teacher, and noted philanthropist. The honour is presented annually to medical professionals who exemplify dedication, innovation, and ethical service in healthcare.
Speaking at the event, members of the medical fraternity acknowledged Dr. Das’s leadership in establishing pain medicine as a recognized and evolving specialty in India. MULTICON 2025, attended by leading clinicians and academicians from across the country, served as a fitting platform to celebrate his lifelong commitment to improving patient care and medical education.
