Railways Approves Brahmapur–Surat Express Service

Brahmapur–Surat Amrit Bharat Express to Begin Regular Service from October 5
Bhubaneswar, Oct 4: The Ministry of Railways has approved the introduction of regular weekly services of the 19022/19021 Brahmapur–Surat (Udhna) Amrit Bharat Express, marking a major step in boosting long-distance connectivity across Western, Central, and Eastern India.
According to East Coast Railway (ECoR) officials, the new service is expected to strengthen economic and industrial mobility by linking mineral-rich belts with textile and trade hubs, thereby supporting both business activities and workforce movement.
As per the schedule, Train No. 19022 Brahmapur–Surat (Udhna) Amrit Bharat Express will depart from Brahmapur every Monday at 23:45 hrs beginning October 6, reaching Udhna at 08:45 hrs the next day. In the return direction, Train No. 19021 Surat (Udhna)–Brahmapur Amrit Bharat Express will leave Udhna every Sunday at 07:10 hrs starting October 5 and arrive in Brahmapur at 13:55 hrs the following day.
The train will halt at major stations including Palasa, Vizianagaram, Rayagada, Titlagarh, Raipur, Nagpur, Bhusaval, and Nandurbar. Additional stoppages in both directions include Srikakulam, Bobbili, Parvatipuram, Muniguda, Kesinga, Kantabanji, Khariar Road, Mahasamund, Lakholi, Durg, Gondia, Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Malkapur, Jalgaon, Dharangaon, Amalner, Sindkheda, Dondaicha, Navapur, Vyara, and Bardoli.
The Amrit Bharat Express will feature 22 modern LHB coaches, comprising 11 General Second Class sitting coaches, 8 Sleeper Class coaches, 2 Second Class-cum-Luggage/Divyangjan coaches, and 1 Pantry Car. These coaches are designed to provide safer, faster, and more comfortable travel.
ECoR stated that the launch of this service reflects Indian Railways’ commitment to expanding affordable long-distance travel options, particularly benefiting middle-class passengers. With modern design and improved facilities, the train is also expected to contribute to regional economic growth and people-centric development.
