Asia Cup: Andy Pycroft to Officiate India-Pakistan Clash Again, PCB Cancels Media Interaction
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has assigned Elite Panel Match Referee Andy Pycroft to oversee Sunday’s high-voltage India-Pakistan Super 4s game in the Asia Cup, despite repeated requests from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to remove him from the match roster.
“Andy Pycroft is the match referee for the Indo-Pak game,” a tournament source confirmed to PTI.
The full list of match officials for the clash has not yet been publicly released. The tournament also features former West Indies captain Richie Richardson as one of the match referees.
In response to the announcement, the PCB decided to cancel pre-match media interactions, highlighting ongoing tensions over match officiating in the high-stakes fixture.
The Asia Cup encounter is expected to draw intense attention, as matches between India and Pakistan consistently generate massive viewership and on-field scrutiny.
